Our Mission
The Sumter Schools Enhancement Foundation is dedicated to enriching educational opportunities for students in Sumter County. Our core mission is to provide support to the schools to help students reach their full potential.
Scholarships
Many students lack the financial resources to continue their education after high school. By providing scholarships, we help open doors of opportunity and support students in successfully pursuing their educational goals.
Recognition
The Foundation recognizes teachers and staff members for outstanding achievements, including honors such as Teacher of the Year and Essential Support Personnel of the Year. Students are also recognized for notable academic accomplishments, including participation and success in events such as the Spelling Bee, Math Field Day, and the Entrepreneurship Contest.
Incentives
Rewards are provided to students in recognition of their successful participation and positive performance within the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program.
Grants
Grants are used to support teachers by providing instructional resources. Funding supports a variety of focus areas, including STEM, mathematics literacy, and Career and Technical Education (CTE).
Students In Need
We provide assistance to students and families in need through our Discretionary Fund and Students in Need donations. This assistance may include, but is not limited to, covering fees and costs associated with eyeglasses, physical examinations, immunizations required for school attendance, clothing, and gas cards.

Through the generosity of our community, we proudly invest in our students’ futures by offering scholarships to help graduates pursue education beyond high school, opening doors to lifelong success. We also believe in celebrating excellence by recognizing outstanding teachers, staff, and students for achievements ranging from Teacher of the Year to academic accomplishments such as Spelling Bee, Math Field Day, and entrepreneurship competitions.
We encourage positive student behavior by providing incentives and rewards tied to participation in our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program. Above all, the Foundation is dedicated to caring for students and families in need. Through discretionary and student support donations, we help cover essential costs such as eyeglasses, school-required physicals and immunizations, clothing, and transportation assistance—ensuring that basic needs never stand in the way of learning.
